What an utter awfully wooden rendition of a book that I had enjoyed quite a lot.

I did try my best to avoid the great hype around the movie premiere for a few weeks, but since my husband also read (and almost liked!-he says), the trilogy, I found my self sitting at the cinema on a Friday evening. This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. Griffin is wonderfully talented, and if you enjoy these books, you should check out her original series, Starr Fated. Since this is Fan-Fic, the books will stay free and unpublished in the traditional sense. The link contains all three books from Christian's perspective, plus a book from Grace Trevelyan-Grey's POV.

The Blog goes chapter to chapter, but you can also download PDF versions of the books here: I know theses books haven't been linked to the author as of the date of this review, so I wanted to provide a link to the free books on her website. It's still too early to claim wether or not I prefer GE Griffin to EL James, but I'm certainly enjoying everything so far. As I said before, Christian is a WAY more interesting character, and I greatly preferred his POV on the breakup. Christian suffers, examines his feelings, learns, and grows from the experience. The chapters of "eternal darkness and perpetual night." Ana cried and withered away. I'm all for expanding one's sexual horizons, but 50 Shades failed to accurately encapsulate a BDSM lifestyle in the same way that a housefly fails to soar alongside an eagle.ģ. The following quote, which so completely sums up my personal feeling on the 50 Shades Trilogy - “This is a gentle beginner’s introduction to BDSM.” I love that Christian acknowledges this, because far too many people got the wrong idea about BDSM from 50 Shades of Grey. “So naïve, so appealing.”, “I'm just like a drug addict, and she's exactly my brand of heroin.”, “The intensity of my need for her consumes me, overwhelms me, scares me, thrills me.”, “This might be vanilla, but it is mind blowingly, fuckingly, amazingly good vanilla.”Ģ. While not quite as humorous as the whole "inner goddess/snarky subconscious" from the original, I enjoyed the little thoughts he tossed out. But if you're concerned about me spoiling anything for you, please stop reading now. (I didn't flag for spoilers because this is a rewrite from a different POV, but all of the events stay the same from the original. Anyway, I enjoyed this book, and look foreword to reading the other two installments, and I'd like to share a few of my favorite parts.

The books were released for free through her website, and I understand she's recently published an original novel unrelated to her (I suppose we should call it fan-fiction?) writing.

So a friend told me about GE Griffin, and how she had completed a full rewrite of the trilogy from Christian Grey's point of view. She was rather flat and boring in comparison. Even through the original series we learn more of Christian's background and motives than we ever learned about Ana. Christian is a WAY more interesting character than Anastasia.

Upon completion, I remember all of us saying "Wouldn't it be great if E.L James rewrote the books from Christian's perspective?" I mean, let's face it. So a friend told me about GE Griffin, and how she had c We read the 50 shades trilogy last summer as part of a book club. We read the 50 shades trilogy last summer as part of a book club.
